Artist's canvas is primed, hand painted, hand stenciled and sealed with a water-based varnish.

The placemats are easy to wipe clean and measure approximately 12" x 15".

The design showcases the stencil until covered by a dinner plate. Once the dinner plate is placed, the stencil design will not interfere with the plate's pattern.

The Holly tree is a symbol of goodwill, peace, health and happiness. Its most common association is as a Christmas seasonal decoration. In England, Holly is an important native evergreen, as it is to most parts of central and southern Europe, but it is also grown in America, China and Japan. In the barren whiteness of winter against the frost and snow, Holly's glossy green leaves and clusters of scarlet/red berries add a flash of color to the woodlands. Holly was prized by Native Americans as a symbol of courage and eternal life.
