Artist's canvas is primed, hand painted, hand stenciled and sealed with a water-based varnish.

The placemats are easy to wipe clean and measure approximately 12" x 15".

The design showcases the stencil until covered by a dinner plate. Once the dinner plate is placed, the stencil design will not interfere with the plate's pattern.

The fern is a symbol of endurance, independence, sincerity, perseverence, autonomy and resourcefulness. The spiral form of the fern frond is a symbol of healing and rejuvenation. In Slavic folklore, ferns are believed to bloom once a year, during the Ivan Kupala night. Although it's exceedingly difficult to find, anyone who takes a look of a fern-flower will be happy and rich for the rest of his life.
